Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» University Continuing to Monitor Tropical Storm Isaias

Office of Emergency Preparedness & Response <emergencyprep@tulane.edu>

Dear Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Community,

We continue to closely monitor Tropical Storm Isaias as it moves northeast in the Gulf. Current forecasts indicate that the storm will make landfall east of Louisiana, somewhere between Biloxi, MS, and Pensacola, FL, approximately 100 to 200 miles east of New Orleans, between late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

All university campuses remain open. At this time, we do not anticipate any changes to normal operations this week. Outdoor events scheduled for Friday and Saturday may be moved or rescheduled. Please confirm with event organizers.

Expect heavy rainfall, sustained winds and possible flooding in Orleans, St. Tammany and Jefferson parishes. We encourage everyone to avoid flooded roadways, use caution when traveling and prioritize personal safety. Off-campus residents, faculty and staff should ensure they have non-perishable food, bottled water, batteries and flashlights in case of a power outage. For more information on storm preparations, please visit .

The university will continue working with state and federal partners to evaluate any developments and provide additional updates tomorrow morning. Information regarding university operations and emergency notifications will also be posted at tulane.edu/emergency.

Please continue checking your email for updates, and tune into any of the New Orleans news stations for the latest forecasts: , , and .

Stay safe,
